Jardin de l'Abbaye de Saint-André

This abbey, founded in the 10th century by benedictins, was built near the tomb of sainte Casarie (VIth century).
The reputation of the abbaye was considerable in the area, where it had, from Uzès from Forcalquier, more than 200 prieurés. To threaten with ruin, the abbey was reconstructed in the XVII and XVIIth century, according to plans from the architect Pierre Mignard. In part demolish during Révolution, the buildings, ranked as Monuments Historiques, have waste rooms with vaults.

Visit of the abbaye with the owner, reserved for groups min. 10. Reservations : abbaye Saint André and Tourist Office of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon.
