Abbaye Saint-André

The Saint-André Abbey, located within the walls of the Saint-André Fortress, was built at the beginning of the 11th century, not far from the Sainte-Casarie gravestone. The abbey was partly destroyed during the French Revolution, and the early buildings disappeared. It is possible to visit the magnificent terraced gardens that overlook the Rhône Valley, which offer splendid views of Avignon and the Popes' Palace.
