Cheval Passion

OpenFrom 20 January 2016 to 24 January 2016
Wednesday January 21th to Sunday 25th.
In January Avignon will become the capital of all things equine, with its renowned equestrian festival which is the 3rd largest horse show and fair Europe and definitely the most creative. 250 exhibitors, faithful and passionate about Cheval Passion, will be on hand with everything for equestrian arts (equipment, saddlery, feed, care, comfort, clothing, decoration, tourism, art, etc.). There will be continuous series of exhibits, competitive meets and performances.

Countdown until Cheval Passion ... and soon, one week before  Cheval Passion opens in Avignon the city gets ready for the big day and will be all decked out in the colours of Cheval Passion for a very special day of equestrian events in Avignon on Saturday 17 January. At the city park "Parc Chico Mendès", at Pont-des-2-Eaux, as of 9am, a camp with horses and livestock will welcome visitors to describe and show the pastoral traditions in Provence and the Maremma region ofItaly.
Local merchants from this part of Avignon will be giving tickets to children for pony rides.
As of 2:45pm, a great parade with 80 animals, led by the gardians from Camargue and the Italian Butteri will go into the centre city, riding through the neighbourhoods of La Reine-Jeanne, Saint-Lazare and along Rue Carreterie. And then, in front of the Palace of the Popes, traditional Provencal singing and dancing by folk groups, the ambassadors of Provence traditions, will welcome the Cheval Passion equestrian parade as it arrives.
The general public is inivted to attend these events and follow the parade alongside the horses and the livestock. Come one and all and walk with us, come on your bicycles or your scooters - any kind of non-motorized means of travel is welcome.

At the Cheval Passion show, visitors will find many categories of products and services of use to riders and their mounts:accessories and riding equipment, clothing and jewelry, knives, horse feed and treatment products, information on jobs in the horse and agricultural fields, specialised bookshop and paper items, equestrian tourism and many other subjects ...

This 30th year anniversary year is a very special occasion for Cheval Passion. Come see all the stars of today and the young talent of tomorrow, in new events and the traditional performances that have made Cheval Passion such a resounding success.

The Cheval Passion show is expecting 1,200 horses, 250 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors. There will be competitions (western, horse-ball, livestock sorting, dressage, etc.), 90 hours of shows, horses for sale, festive evenings at the Cabaret Équestre and the Bodega, games and prizes and gifts to win. This year there will be 5 performances of the great Crinières d’Or Gala.
The Crinières d'Or shows are the highlight of the Cheval Paszsion days and show horses and riders in aesthetic, dynamic performances which beautifully combine the complicity between horse and rider, dressage techniques, pastoral traditions and athletic prowess.
