Transports

The city of Avignon is both a cultural crossroads and a gateway to the South. Between 50 and 60 trains leave from the two railway stations (one of which is for the TGV, high speed train) every day, and there are 24 return flights a week from the airport to Paris.
Avignon has become the hub of commercial and cultural exchange for the South of France.
The City has 7709 parking spaces, of which 4345 are free of charge. Bike-lovers are also catered for. They can ride along the 110 kilometres of cycling itineraries and use the 1000 allotted parking spaces. 23 bus lines run regular routes with circulation plans that improve from year to year and that will continue to do so.

AVIGNON BY BIKE

The “Cyclades” in September, the setting up of a special unit in the road traffic department in charge of the cycling policy of the city, membership to the Club of Cyclable Cities, are all proof of the interest that Avignon has, and will continue to have, for “la Petite Reine”.
To date, the City has 135 kilometres of cyclable itineraries, 80 kilometres of bike rides and more than 1 000 allotted parking spaces. 80 push buttons devices have been adapted to traffic lights on certain secondary roads.
