A lovely garden, a bower of wisteria in the very heart of the medieval town, this former 14th century convent emanates rare charm. Painstaking, seamless renovation in total harmony with the spirit of the place – the new owners have succeeded in making a new member of the Maison Baumanière. Fabien Fage sought to make his menu reflect both the Mediterranean and the Gard, for Villeneuve-les-Avignon, though it is only 3 km from Avignon, is decidedly already another region, and is an early step into a journey into Languedoc-Roussillon.Menus change four times a week, and the chef’s market basket is filled with products from his side of the Côtes du Rhône terroir, from the gariguette grown in Beaucaire to pigeon raised in Nîmes.New carte, new concept, with theme evenings proposed under the aegis of "Fridays at Le Prieuré". Specialties: Slice of foie gras from Les Landes grilled with fleur de sel, Maltese orange candied in its juice, roasted local lamb chops en cocotte.
